As an addendum to your New Year's resolutions, how about making it a goal not to scramble to meet the 2011 contribution deadline for your Registered Retirement Savings Plan.


Reminder

As of January 1, 2012, if you are younger than 65 years of age, even if you are receiving CPP payments, you must contribute CPP on your pensionable earnings and your employer must contribute a matching amount. Previously, if you were receiving CPP and still earning employment or self-employment income, you and your employer were exempt from making contributions.
